Who CleverAI is
CleverAI is based in Winkel (canton of Zurich). Its product, CleverAI Voice, is an AI phone assistant for small businesses, with a dedicated page for dental and medical practices. It is set up for you: you activate call forwarding and CleverAI configures the assistant from your website.
Voko (Bern) is a self-serve AI phone assistant: you set it up yourself, from your website.
Prices and contract
| Voko Starter | Voko Pro | CleverAI | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price a month | CHF 99, excl. VAT | CHF 299, excl. VAT | CHF 249 flat, plus VAT per its terms |
| Included minutes | 500 | 1,500 | No limit; a fair-use clause with no figure |
| Per included minute | CHF 0.20 | CHF 0.20 | Cannot be worked out |
| Extra minutes | CHF 0.35 per extra minute | CHF 0.25 per extra minute | None; its terms allow a limit or an individual quote |
| Annual billing | CHF 84 a month (15% off) | CHF 254 a month | Not stated on its site |
| Setup fee | CHF 0 | CHF 0 | From CHF 490 (home page); CHF 750 (dental page) |
| Term and notice | Monthly; ends with the paid month | Monthly; ends with the paid month | "Cancellable monthly" on its pages; 30 days in its terms |
| Free trial | 7 days or 30 minutes, no card; every feature except porting | 7 days or 30 minutes, no card; every feature except porting | 14 days, no card, full features |
| Money back | None | None | Not stated on its site |
Three months at entry level (our arithmetic). Voko Starter: 3 x CHF 99 = CHF 297, no setup fee. CleverAI: 3 x CHF 249 = CHF 747, plus the setup fee, so CHF 1,237 with CHF 490 or CHF 1,497 with CHF 750. Live transfer is a paid CleverAI module (3 x CHF 99 = CHF 297 more). Voko Starter includes transfer to one number; several destinations come with Pro (CHF 299). CleverAI waives the setup fee if you leave within the 14 trial days.
Its home page and FAQ say “from CHF 490”, its dental page says CHF 750, and no page reconciles the two, so we show both. Its home page does not mention VAT; its dental page and terms say prices exclude it. Voko’s prices exclude VAT too.
Voko’s plans differ in features as well as minutes. Every plan answers, books into your calendar through Cal.com, emails a summary, handles opening hours and holidays, takes a message outside opening hours and has one transfer number. Pro adds appointment reminders, contacts with caller recognition and routing, several transfer destinations with a team directory, and bexio. Business adds the webhook and API, booking in your own system, number porting and priority support. The knowledge the assistant reads in full is capped at 40,000 characters on Starter, 100,000 on Pro and 200,000 on Business. CleverAI is a single plan without tiers, with live transfer as a paid module.
Where the flat rate pays off
CleverAI counts no minutes, so there is no per-minute price, only a break-even. The table below is our arithmetic: Voko Starter is CHF 99 plus CHF 0.35 for each minute above 500; Voko Pro is CHF 299 plus CHF 0.25 for each minute above 1,500. The extra-minute total is rounded up to the whole franc.
| Voko Starter | Voko Pro | CleverAI | |
|---|---|---|---|
| 500 minutes | CHF 99 | CHF 299 | CHF 249 |
| 800 minutes | CHF 204 | CHF 299 | CHF 249 |
| 900 minutes | CHF 239 | CHF 299 | CHF 249 |
| 1,000 minutes | CHF 274 | CHF 299 | CHF 249 |
| 1,200 minutes | CHF 344 | CHF 299 | CHF 249 |
| 1,500 minutes | CHF 449 | CHF 299 | CHF 249 |
| 2,000 minutes | CHF 624 | CHF 424 | CHF 249 |
Up to 900 minutes a month, Voko Starter is cheaper (CHF 239 at 900 minutes against CHF 249; CHF 274 at 1,000). Above about 925 minutes, CleverAI’s flat rate wins and the gap widens, and Voko Pro costs more than CleverAI at every volume shown. With its transfer module, CleverAI’s line moves to CHF 348 (CHF 249 + CHF 99, our arithmetic). Against that, Voko Pro at CHF 299, which includes several transfer destinations, costs less up to about 1,690 minutes a month (CHF 324 at 1,600, CHF 349 at 1,700); Voko Starter, which includes one transfer number only, costs less up to 1,200 minutes (CHF 344). CleverAI’s fair-use clause names no threshold, so we cannot say where it starts to matter.
Feature by feature
Where CleverAI’s site is silent, the cell says so. That is not a “no”, so ask CleverAI.
Languages and Swiss German
| Voko | CleverAI | |
|---|---|---|
| Languages | French, German, Italian, English, Spanish, Portuguese, Swiss German (beta) | Says "50+ languages"; no list |
| Swiss German | Speaks it, as a beta; understanding not measured | The default; says it speaks and understands it; labelled "New", no measure |
| Switch language mid-call | Across six languages, not from Swiss German | After the greeting; later switches not stated |
| Voices | Up to 6 per language, with a listen button | Not stated on its site |
| Greeting | Your text, or a recording up to 30 seconds | Uses your business name; custom text not stated |
| Pace and tone | Pace in 5 steps, responsiveness, creativity | Not stated on its site |
| Caller can interrupt | Yes; the greeting is protected by default | Not stated on its site |
| Says it is an AI | Says so when asked, not unprompted | Not stated; its terms leave the duty to you |
| Simultaneous calls | Starter 1, Pro 3, Business by agreement | No figure; says it takes every call |
| Longest call | Up to 2 hours, set per assistant | Not stated on its site |
CleverAI makes Swiss German its headline and its default. Voko offers it as a beta: the assistant speaks it, but how well it understands spoken dialect has not been measured. CleverAI publishes no measure either. On voices, pace and tone, CleverAI’s site gives no detail; Voko lets you set them.
Booking and calendar
| Voko | CleverAI | |
|---|---|---|
| Books into a calendar | Yes, via Cal.com (free); your own system, Business only | No, on purpose: the caller books themselves |
| Checks free slots live | Yes | Not stated on its site |
| Move or cancel | Only what it booked, from the same number | Not stated; its sample call notes the request |
| Request or link instead | Takes a message if there is no calendar or it is full | SMS with a link to your booking tool |
| Reminders | From Pro: SMS, or a call from the assistant (new) | Not stated on its site |
| Confirmation to the caller | Spoken, plus Cal.com email if given | SMS with a link; email not stated |
CleverAI says direct calendar sync leads to double bookings, sync errors and unclear liability, so it sends an SMS link to the booking tool you already use. That is a considered choice, and it suits a practice with its own online booking. Voko books, but through Cal.com (every plan) or your own system (Business only), with one appointment type per assistant, and it moves only what it booked. For a business that wants the call to end with an appointment, Voko is the better fit.
Transfers, opening hours and voicemail
| Voko | CleverAI | |
|---|---|---|
| Transfer to a person | Starter: one number. From Pro: up to 10 rules; person, other assistant or number; by name | Paid module, CHF 99 a month; you set the criteria |
| Hours, holidays, closures | Per weekday; holidays for 26 cantons; closures with own message | Closure dates and stand-in contacts; cantonal holidays not stated |
| Voicemail | Audio up to 2 minutes, emailed; no transcript | Message goes into the email; no audio stored |
| Lines busy | Overflow to a backup number | Via forwarding at your carrier |
| Forward all calls to a phone | One click, for a set time | Not stated on its site |
| Spam and daily caps | Limits per number, auto-block, daily caps | Not stated on its site |
| Outbound calls | Appointment reminders only, from Pro | Not stated on its site |
| Urgent and emergencies | Urgency in each summary; urgent calls by rule | Reports emergencies at once; how is not stated |
Outside hours, CleverAI’s transfer puts the call through to a person on standby. In hours it goes to reception if someone is there. It offers a callback first and never promotes the option. A dental on-call variant costs another CHF 99. From Pro you can set several transfer rules and destinations in the console; Starter has one transfer number. CleverAI’s stand-in contacts by weekday and time are a good fit for practices.
Contacts and caller memory
| Voko | CleverAI | |
|---|---|---|
| Recognises a returning caller | From Pro: saved contacts only; greets by name | No, by design: every call starts at zero |
| Past calls as context | From Pro: optional, the last 3 calls of a contact | No history, no profile, by design |
| Routing per contact | From Pro: straight to you, or to another assistant | Not stated on its site |
| Contact import | From Pro: CSV, Excel, bexio | Not stated on its site |
CleverAI argues that no memory means nothing to leak. Voko offers recognition, which you can switch off whenever you prefer. If your callers expect to be recognised, choose Voko from Pro; if the privacy of the call is the point, CleverAI’s stance is simpler.
Knowledge the assistant learns from
| Voko | CleverAI | |
|---|---|---|
| Sources | Website, documents (PDF, Word, text), free text | Built by CleverAI from your site; uploads not stated |
| Limits | 10 MB a file, 20 documents per assistant; knowledge up to 40,000 characters (Starter), 100,000 (Pro) or 200,000 (Business) | Not stated on its site |
| Website re-read | Manual, weekly or monthly | Not stated on its site |
CleverAI does the first fill for you and, for practices, supplies a pre-filled starter pack developed with its clinical advisor. You then add details in an admin panel whose features its site does not describe. Voko publishes its sources and limits, and you maintain the content yourself.
Summaries, transcripts and recordings
| Voko | CleverAI | |
|---|---|---|
| Summary after a call | Email, optional SMS; routing rules; webhook (Business only) | Email to the number's owner, in German; SMS not stated |
| Fields | Reason, to-do, urgency, caller name, callback | Reason, number, urgency, name if given |
| Transcript | In the console, beside the summary | No transcript archive |
| Audio recording | Off by default; announced to callers if on | None recorded or stored, it says; no setting described |
| Call log, search, export | Yes; export to CSV or Excel | No dashboard, on purpose |
| Analytics | Basic overview: calls, bookings, durations | Not stated on its site |
This is the sharpest difference. With CleverAI, the only record of a call is the email in your inbox; it says the summary is discarded after sending. That is private, but it also means there is nothing to listen back to and no call log to search. With Voko you can review every call, and you decide what is kept and for how long.
Integrations, API and webhooks
| Voko | CleverAI | |
|---|---|---|
| CRM (HubSpot, Salesforce) | No native connector; only the webhook (Business only) | Not stated on its site |
| Accounting | From Pro: bexio, contacts and call notes | Not stated on its site |
| Webhook | Business only: signed, after each call; no retry | Not stated on its site |
| API and developer docs | Business only: booking in your own system and webhook documented; no API to read calls | Not stated on its site |
| Zapier, Make, n8n | No native app; via the webhook (Business only) | Not stated on its site |
| Custom tools | Not available | Not stated on its site |
| Website chat or widget | Text chatbot (beta); no voice widget | Not stated on its site |
CleverAI states no integrations apart from the SMS link to your booking tool. Voko has few native ones too: Cal.com on every plan, bexio from Pro, and the webhook and a booking interface for your own software (Business only). If you need a native Salesforce or HubSpot link, ask both providers.
Phone numbers
| Voko | CleverAI | |
|---|---|---|
| A new Swiss number | Included; you cannot choose the prefix | Gives you one to forward to; cost not stated |
| Keep your number | Forwarding; codes shown per carrier | Conditional forwarding at your carrier |
| Porting | Business only: on request, manual, about four weeks | Not stated on its site |
| Numbers per plan | Starter 1, Pro 3, Business by agreement | Not stated on its site |
| Country | Swiss numbers only | Not stated for customers |
Team, security and support
| Voko | CleverAI | |
|---|---|---|
| Users | Starter 1, Pro and Business unlimited | Not stated on its site |
| Roles | Owner, administrator, viewer, billing access | Not stated on its site |
| Two-factor sign-in | Authenticator app; can be required for all | Not stated on its site |
| Console languages | French, German, English | Not stated on its site |
| Support | Email, form, phone; reply in one business day; priority support (Business only) | Phone, email, WhatsApp; a founder as contact; hours not stated |
| Availability promise | None; no SLA | None in its terms |
Neither promises a service level, and CleverAI names neither ISO 27001 nor SOC 2 (Voko holds neither). CleverAI says it personally stands behind the service and offers a free appointment. Voko has roles and two-factor sign-in, which CleverAI does not mention. We found no “coming soon” item on CleverAI’s pages.
Data and privacy
CleverAI’s column is its own statement, not a check of ours.
| Voko | CleverAI | |
|---|---|---|
| Hosting | Database in Zurich, app in Frankfurt; we claim no Swiss hosting | App in Amsterdam (EU); says it does not claim data stays in Switzerland |
| Providers named | ElevenLabs, Google, Twilio and others, all listed | Twilio, Google, OpenAI "among others"; roles not stated |
| Audio | Off by default; if on, kept for the retention delay | Says none is ever recorded or stored |
| Transcript and summary | 1, 7, 30 (default) or 90 days, or never delete | Summary emailed once, then discarded; no days given |
| Zero retention | Zero-retention option per assistant | The default, it says |
| AI training | States calls are never used for training | States no call trains its models; providers not covered |
| Data processing agreement | On request | Terms say it acts as processor; no public document |
| Law cited | Revised Swiss FADP | "Applicable Swiss data protection law" |
| Certifications | None | None named; swissICT member and "swiss made software" label, it says |
| Delete or export | Delete a call or account; JSON export | Not stated; says nothing is stored |
CleverAI is open that its language and telephony providers sit partly in the United States, and says the phone number is not passed to the language model. Its site does not say where those providers process audio or text, or how long they keep it. Our data page lists ours and notes that voice and language processing run through US providers.
The trade-off is the one from the features: the less a service stores, the less you can review. Voko stores what you ask it to, and you can switch every part of it off. See also our data security page.
Setup and trial
CleverAI is done for you. Its site says the setup is personally guided and takes about 10 minutes of your time. You activate conditional call forwarding at your phone provider; CleverAI fills the assistant from your website. It claims you are ready within 24 hours, which we cannot verify. The trial lasts 14 days with the full feature set, transfer module included, and needs no card. No limit on calls is stated. Billing starts on day 15; if you leave before then, you pay neither the monthly fee nor the setup fee. Its terms add that the trial applies where it is offered, and that it turns into a paid subscription unless you cancel.
Voko is self-serve. You sign up, give your website, choose a language and a voice, and an assistant is built; the wizard says it takes about two minutes. A Swiss number is assigned, you test it with a call in the browser, then forward your calls. We make no go-live promise; help comes from written guides and a checklist in the console. The trial is 7 days or 30 minutes, whichever ends first, with no card, and it shows every feature except number porting.
Reasons to choose each

- Swiss German as the default language, rather than a beta.
- No audio ever stored, by its own statement: privacy as the starting point.
- Done for you with about 10 minutes of your time, a free appointment on offer, and a dedicated page for dental practices.
- A longer trial: 14 days, with transfer included.
Reasons to choose Voko
- Booking into a calendar, with live availability, on every plan; reminders from Pro.
- A console to review every call: transcript, search, export.
- Several transfer rules and destinations, set in the console, and per-contact routing, from Pro.
- Cheaper than CleverAI’s flat rate up to about 900 minutes a month on Starter, with no setup fee.
- Published knowledge limits (40,000 characters on Starter, 100,000 on Pro, 200,000 on Business), contacts and bexio (from Pro), the webhook (Business only), roles and two-factor sign-in, which CleverAI’s site does not mention.
When to choose which
When to choose CleverAI
- you take many calls and want one fixed price whatever the volume;
- you want someone to set it up for you, and Swiss German by default;
- you want no recordings and no records, and your callers book through your own online tool.
When to choose Voko
- you want the assistant to book appointments in your calendar (every plan) and remind callers (from Pro);
- you want to listen to, search and export your calls, or recognise your regulars (from Pro);
- you take up to about 900 minutes a month and prefer to try it and set it up yourself.
Either way, listen to a real call before you sign. You can hear ours right now: enter your website, and an assistant that knows your business answers you. For all the providers side by side, read the 2026 comparison, and for the full arithmetic, how much an AI phone assistant costs.
