Trades and callouts

Hands are busy working. The phone still gets answered.

Voko answers when you're on site, under a sink, or up a ladder. It notes quote requests, flags emergencies, and sends you a summary after every call.

On the job

The four calls that come in every day

You're on site or at a customer's. Voko takes the call while you're busy.

Triage an emergency

A leak, a heating breakdown, a stuck door: Voko notes what's described, flags the call as urgent, and passes it on right away.

Take a quote request

Voko notes the address, the type of job, and the customer's details, without ever quoting a price itself.

Book a job

Voko offers the slots you have given it and confirms the appointment in writing.

Send a written summary

Who called, what they needed, the address and callback number. Nothing to listen back to in the evening.

The context

On a job site, nobody's in an office to pick up

Switzerland counts thousands of construction and trade businesses, most of them very small, where the person who picks up is the same one on site.

  • 11,000

businesses or so in Swiss construction and building

  • CHF 22bn

annual output from the construction sector

  • 9/10

Swiss businesses have fewer than ten employees

What it will never do

These rules cannot be switched off

They are part of the base every Voko assistant is built on and are regenerated on every save, so editing your own instructions cannot erase them.

Never a made-up price

The assistant does not quote a job over the phone. It notes the details and passes them to you so you can price it.

144 or 118 for a life-threatening emergency

A gas leak, a fire, immediate danger: the assistant points to emergency services rather than to an appointment.

No time commitment

The assistant never promises an exact arrival time. It notes the urgency; judging the real timing stays with you.

It says it is an automated assistant

If a customer asks whether they are speaking to a person, the answer is clear and immediate.

Voicemail, and Voko

A customer with a leak who reaches voicemail calls the next tradesperson on the list.

Voicemail

  • The customer hears a message and hangs up
  • An emergency waits until you have signal again
  • Nobody notes the address or the problem
  • You call back in the evening, often too late

Voko

  • The customer has someone on the line
  • An emergency is flagged with the address right away
  • Every call arrives written up
  • You call back with everything you need in hand
Questions

What tradespeople ask before signing up

The questions that come up most often before signing up.

Can the assistant quote a price over the phone?

No, never. That is a rule in the base, not a setting. It notes the job details and passes them to you so you can put together the quote.

How does it handle a real emergency?

It notes what's described, flags the call as urgent with the address, and passes it on immediately. For immediate danger, it points to emergency services.

Does it work if I'm on site with no signal?

Yes. Voko answers in your place, and you get the summary the moment you have signal again, by text or email.

What happens to customer data?

You choose how long calls are kept and can delete everything from your account at any time.

Can it transfer a call to my mobile?

Yes, to a number you choose, with the condition that triggers it. Without a condition it does not transfer.

Call it the way a customer would.

Two minutes is enough to know whether the tone fits your business.
